meh
Size - 24 cms tall by 28 cms wide
Style of frame - battered old French wooden and gilted
Fabric - I believe that this is a really special Jacqueline Groag (1903 – 1986) piece, who was an influential textile designer in Great Britain in the period following World War II. She produced and designed fabrics for leading Parisian fashion houses including Chanel, Lanvin, House of Worth, Schiaparelli and Paul Poiret. She later became a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI), the ultimate accolade for any designer in Britain.
Indeed this fabric is used on the cover of a book written about her work.
Wording - meh – a particular bugbear of mine when employed by my children - definition is "The use of the term "meh" shows that the speaker is apathetic, uninterested, or indifferent to the question or subject at hand."
