Fabric / Background - a background of vintage Cath Kidston cotton. Cath Kidston sold a majority stake in her eponymous business to private equity firm TA Associates in 2010. She subsequently stepped down from her role as creative director in 2014 and ceased being a director of the company in 2016, after selling her remaining shares to Baring Private Equity Asia. Following the pandemic, the company went into administration twice, with Next plc purchasing the brand, domain, and intellectual property for £8.5m in March 2023.
